  I am Asma. Mother, Doula, Educator, Photographer 

My introduction to Birth Work came with the birth of my first born. Navigating the birth world as a mother and as a doula, I quickly recognized the lack of basic education around pregnancy and birth, especially from a faith based perspective. I also realized that there is an urgent need in our communities to advocate for better, evidence based, respectful care.

My work is rooted in accessibility, anti-racism and cultural competence and advocacy. I strongly believe that healthy parents and valued children are an integral part of a creating a stronger ummah, and am actively working towards making this a reality, bi'iznillah. All of my offerings are approached from a culturally sensitive, faith-focused lens.  

Over the last decade, I have helped dozens of women have a smoother pregnancy, gain clarity on how they want to approach their birth, help their partners find meaning and footing in their own experience with this transition, and supported them as they courageously took charge of their birth and postpartum exeperiences, Alhamdulillah. 

As a self proclaimed anatomy and birth-nerd, I am constantly looking to better my skills as a Birth Worker. I am a Certified Birth and Postpartum Doula, Certified Evidence Based Birth professional, a Certified Body Ready Method professional, specializing in functional mobility for pregnancy, birth and beyond. I'm also currently upgrading my lactation support skills with The Thompson Method (TM). I'm looking forward to transferring my learnings into practice, and supporting you through your life changing pregnancy, birth and postpartum journeys!
