Ready your mind, body and soul for a peaceful, positive, purposeful and powerful birth experience!
Imagine going through labour feeling fearless and excited, confident in your trust in Allah's plan, and in your body's ability to give birth!
What if You could go into labour feeling empowered and informed?
You can feel yourself get increasingly nervous for the big day, as your baby grows from a “sweet pea”, to a “sweet potato” and then a “butternut squash” and beyond.
Your body is working hard, but you’re not sure if you’re prepared for what’s coming.
You see the picture-perfect images at your midwife’s clinic of moms who seem to be at so much peace in their pregnant, or newly postpartum bodies with their new babies, and wonder how you too can feel that serenity when all you can think about is “how the heck am I going to get this baby out?!”
You hear your sister-in-law talk about her 48-hour-nightmare-labour as she suffered for 24 hours before screaming for an epidural. You feel the fear of going into labour and experiencing contractions yourself, rising.
You just finished your appointment with your midwife who has briefly gone over how to identify you’re in labour and when to call her, but your journey home is riddled with many unanswered questions and concerns.
You’ve devoured multiple books and spent countless hours scrounging the internet for articles on the topics of pregnancy and birth, and it’s only left you feeling overwhelmed by the amount of information and opinions out there. What’s the right strategy for you? Is there even a right or wrong strategy? How do I know I’m making the right choices? You don’t feel nearly as ready as you were hoping to be, for what’ll happen in the delivery room.
Despite all of the apprehension... you’re determined to do the best you can for your baby - the new little piece of your soul, growing in your blessed womb. Right from the moment when they are conceived, until the moment you will first hear their beautiful voice, you know you want to do right by them. And do right by yourself.
You know that this baby is a trust from Allah swt. A gift that is now your responsibility to nurture. And you know that tarbiyah of this child begins from when they’re still growing in your womb.
You recognize that there is a gap between the information that you’re receiving from well meaning friends and family, your health care providers, the numerous literature you’ve consumed on the topic of birth, and what you feel deep in your bones.
Here’s the thing- we’re not just physical and emotional beings, we’re also highly spiritual. And when you’re birthing, you’re in a state that is closer to your Creator. The duas you make when you’re in labour are Mustajab (readily accepted). THIS is the missing link.
You haven’t been exposed to a holistic approach to preparing for childbirth that includes the physical, mental, emotional, AND Islamic perspectives.
Your healthcare providers barely have time to go over the basics of birth.
Your friends and family explain birth to you in ways that are very subjective and it makes it hard to understand what YOU can expect when it’s YOUR turn to give birth.
The literature you’ve consumed about childbirth seems extremely objective, and cold even.
The Islamic aspect of birth is reduced to a few quick rituals done after your baby is born.

Isn’t it about time that you finally overcome the fears and mysteries that surround birth? Isn’t it time to question what we’re consuming when it comes to portrayal of birth in the media? Isn’t it time to arm yourself with the skills and knowledge you’ll need to own your birth experience, on your terms?
You deserve to be so fully supported and empowered in this life-changing event, that you’re able to embrace this miracle of birth for what it is.
You deserve to be able to make informed decisions regarding your birth, your body and your baby-regardless of whether you opt for a home birth, or a hospital birth.
You deserve to feel safe, comforted and supported while you’re in a state of utmost vulnerability.
It’s time to stop dreading the moment of going into labour and begin to look forward to it with renewed faith, excitement, hope, and optimism, insha Allah!
Salaam!

Asma’s Childbirth class was eye opening. Both my husband and I feel so much more ready for birth after taking her class. Asma was thorough, informative and answered all our questions wonderfully. As first time parents, we cannot recommend this class enough! So grateful to have Asma by our side on this journey
I was so worried and fearful of going into labour, but after taking this class I feel so at ease. We kept reviewing all the handouts we got in class and are happy to report I had an amazing birth! It was so nice to see a Muslim prespective on birthing, and to learn about how we can incorporate faith into our birth. Asma made learning about the entire process so easy for us. She is warm, down to earth and easy to talk to. I highly recommend this course to anyone who is expecting.
Our classes with Asma were fantastic. She immediately made us feel comfortable. we got answers to questions we didn't even realize we had. We were able to go through all the options we'd need to consider for our birth and learn how to ask the right questions before making our decision. This class was incredibly empowering. We especially appreciated the discussion on different types of pain management and on starting to breastfeed. 10/10 would recommend!
On the fence? Got a question?
Hospital-led classes normally run for 3-4 hours, which is most definitely not enough to cover everything you need to know. These classes are also usually taught by nurses, not certified childbirth educators. There are restrictions that hospital administrators place on what can and cannot be taught. The information presented in these classes is typically biased towards hospital interventions and policies. Essentially, they teach you how to be “good patients”.
I agree with you. There is just SO much information available for free online. So much that you will often find conflicting information that you will need to sift through. You can spend hours online Google-ing worst case scenarios of “what could go wrong” and end up spiralling and feeling even more confused than you were when you started.
OR…
You can feel supported by someone who has gone through it all and helped moms just like you through this time. You can ask your questions LIVE and get thoughtful answers by someone who will take the time to ease your worries and address your concerns.
A common myth that I find moms believing is that childbirth classes-and doulas for that matter- are just for moms who plan to have completely unmedicated home births. That is not what doulas or childbirth educators are about.
Your choices are just that - YOURS. My job as your educator is to make sure that you know ALL of your choices and the pros and cons of each and THEN make your own informed decisions based on what you feel is right for YOU and your baby at that time.
I believe that every body, birth, and baby is unique. There is no one-size-fits-all model for giving birth and only Allah (SWT), you, your healthcare professionals (with your expressed consent) can determine what’s “right” for YOU! I am just there to help you to navigate through the unknown and help demystify the uncertainty surrounding birth so that you can feel confident and prepared.
Lets put this in perspective: Birth With Ruh is a total of 8-10 hours of class time. That's literally a fraction of a day out of your 9 months of pregnancy, that will be spent in preparing for an event that will undeniably change your life. The course is all virtual, and you have access to recordings, reading materials and worksheets for the next 6 months. Squeeze in the learning and thank me later, inshallah :)
Birth With Ruh is a quality course that combines a number of teachings and presents them in a Muslim-friendly manner. The value of this course goes beyond basic learning. You get a community (don't we all need one, especially right now with the world being upside down with Covid?), you get an opportunity to understand yourself better, to prepare yourself, your marriage, your mental state for this new phase in life.
Most of all, you get the satisfaction of knowing you're that you've done your part in preparing yourself thoroughly for what's coming.
No monetary value can be assigned to peace of mind :)
That being said, I do believe that this course is a must-take for all birthing women, and want to make it accessible. Should you be in need of financial assistance, or a payment plan, please feel free to reach out to me by clicking the link below.
Birth is a normal, physiological process that hasn’t changed fundamentally from the time of Hawwa (A.S.). I help you understand the physical aspect of it so that you can go into birth with the confidence that you CAN do this! -and be amazed at how Allah has designed us for this purpose!
Our minds are powerful. The thoughts that we hold help to fuel the outcomes of our pregnancy and birth. By preparing for your childbirth by educating yourself about it, you are drastically increasing the chances of a positive experience, regardless of the path your birth ends up taking!
The hormones that make pregnancy possible, may also throw our emotions on a rollercoaster! I guide you to find the tools that will help you understand these emotions and navigate through your tough feelings.
Islam has greatly honored mothers. Learn to bask in the fact that Allah swt has chosen you for this blessed journey to Motherhood, and that this time is a beautiful opportunity for you to connect with your Creator.
